In 2006, the Madison 56ers assembled Madison's first major adult amateur team since the '90s. The team plays in the National Premier Soccer League and is coached by Jim Launder.

Three P-56ers Named to
Midwest Region All-Star Team

The National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) has announced the Regional All-Star Teams and the 2005 NPSL MVP. The All-Star Teams were selected by ballot from a representative of each team in the respective region. In the Midwest Region, the Madison 56ers of Madison, Wisconsin has three (3) players selected to the Midwest Region All-Star Team. The three players are Jed Hohlbein (Forward), Keenan Newallo (Midfielder), Aaron Hohlbein (Defender).

As expected, the Midwest Region Champions, the Detroit Arsenal, who also won the 2005 NPSL National Championship, had five (5) players selected to the Midwest All-Star Team. The Midwest runner-up Milwaukee Bavarians had three (3) players selected, and the Minnesota Blast had two (2) players selected.

The 2005 NPSL MVP is Anthony Chimienti, Forward for the Sacramento Knights in the West Region.
