Coach Development
Developing the Next Generation of Coaches and Leaders
At the Madison 56ers, we believe player development extends beyond an athlete's time on the field. Our Coach Mentor Program provides athletes ages 16 and older with an opportunity to explore coaching, develop leadership skills, and give back to the game.
Through mentorship, hands-on experience, and formal coaching education, participants will gain valuable insight into what it means to be a coach while building skills that extend well beyond soccer.
Learn from Experienced Coaches
Be paired with a Madison 56ers staff mentor who will provide guidance, feedback, and support throughout the experience.
Gain Practical Coaching Experience
Observe and assist with training sessions, gaining firsthand experience in planning, teaching, and supporting young players.
Participate in Coach Education
Attend virtual and/or in-person educational opportunities focused on coaching methodology, player development, leadership, and creating positive learning environments.
Pursue Coaching Licensure

Coach Mentor Program
Who Can Participate?
The program is designed for athletes ages 16 and older who have an interest in coaching, leadership, or giving back to the sport.
No previous coaching experience is required. We welcome participants who are curious about coaching, eager to learn, and willing to invest in their own development.

Coach Mentor Program
Investing in What Comes Next
For over 70 years, the Madison 56ers have benefited from coaches, players, and community members who have invested in the next generation.
The Coach Mentor Program continues that tradition by creating opportunities for today's athletes to become tomorrow's coaches, mentors, and leaders.
